Housing. Two of my most impactful wins in the State House have been on housing. I co-sponsored SB25-002, which created regional building codes for factory-built homes — including manufactured homes and tiny homes — and stopped local governments from imposing unfair barriers on these more affordable housing options. I also co-sponsored HB25-1093, which prevents cities and counties in urban areas from quietly downzoning — reducing housing density — without making up for it somewhere else in their jurisdiction. Together, these bills are helping to protect and grow Colorado's housing supply so that more working families have a real shot at a safe, stable place to live.

Healthcare and Families. I sponsored HB25-1003, which consolidated two existing Medicaid waiver programs for children with complex health needs into a single, easier-to-navigate program. For families already navigating the challenges of raising a child with a serious medical condition, cutting through bureaucratic confusion isn't just a policy win, it's a lifeline. This bill passed with bipartisan support and was signed into law in March 2025.

LGBTQ+ Rights. I was proud to co-sponsor HB25-1312, the Kelly Loving Act, named in honor of Kelly Loving — a transgender woman killed in the 2022 Club Q shooting. This law expands Colorado's anti-discrimination protections to cover a person's chosen name and pronouns in workplaces, schools, and places of public accommodation, and makes it easier for transgender Coloradans to update their identity documents. Because everyone in House District 30 deserves to live and work free from fear and discrimination.

Energy and Environment. I co-sponsored HB26-1007, which removes the bureaucratic barriers that have made it harder for Colorado homeowners and renters to install solar panels and connect distributed energy resources to the grid. Energy providers can no longer require customers to get their sign-off before installing portable solar devices — and utilities must allow customer-owned meter collar adapters without unnecessary fees or hurdles. More clean energy, in more hands.
